If Walls Could Talk: Mural Development and Street Art in Broward County

Jill Weisberg, curator of the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project, will present the evolution of murals and street art in South Florida. She will detail how a public mural is conceptualized and the unique challenges faced by artists during mural development and execution. Finally, Weisberg will elaborate on the importance of public art in our county as well as the exciting upcoming projects that will be coming to our neighborhoods shortly.

The Downtown Hollywood Mural Project is a collection of curated outdoor murals by both local, national and internationally recognized artists presented by the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency. The Mural Project’s goal is to curate contemporary outdoor murals at key locations in an effort to enhance and enrich the existing cultural fabric of the community.
